BARROSO AND HÜBNER IN COMPLETE HARMONY WITH THE REGIONS
It was a structured and out of the ordinary dialogue which
took place in Brussels on 17 December 2007. Very easy going, not
very traditional and above all, most selective, was how our President,
Mr Claudio Martini defined it immediately after having taken part in
a working lunch with the President of the European Commission, Mr José
Manuel Barroso; the European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Danuta
Hübner; the President of the Committee of the Regions, Mr Michel
Delebarre and representatives of the major European Regional Associations

BLUE, GREEN AQUAMARINA !
Since the appointment of Commissioner Borg in 2004, the CPMR has tirelessly supported the emergence of an integrated European maritime policy and has been a driving force in the drafting of the European Commissions Green Paper followed by the Blue Book.
On 14th December, the European Council of Ministers encouraged the Commission to continue its work and draft proposals in this area, while asking it, at the same time, to file a report on progress in its Action Plan by the end of 2009.
This is the timetable which has led, under the coordination of the Brittany Region, to the setting up of the Aquamarina working group within the CPMR. Its aims are as follows:
- to monitor the Blue Book and the Community Action Plan to enable the CPMR to react to the various phases in the Action Plan; ...
CPMR / COMMITTEE OF THE REGIONS SEMINAR "WHICH FUTURE FOR REGIONAL POLICIES AFTER 2013?"
The publication by the European Commission of the 4th Cohesion Report last spring initiated a wide debate on the future of EU regional policy after 2013. In this context, the CPMR, in partnership with the Committee of the Regions and under the patronage of the Spanish Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, is organising a seminar entitled What future for EU regional policies after 2013? on the 18th January 2008 in Seville, at the invitation of the Andalusian Government.
The European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Danuta Hübner, will be taking part in the seminar. It is expected to attract high-level players (European Commission, European Parliament, Committee of the Regions, Member States, representatives or Regions or Regional organisations) with a view to discussing their thoughts and views.
